Ryan Deiss' Formal Statement About the
Controversy Surrounding Mr. X (A.K.A. Perry Belcher)

There's no doubt that a lot is going to be said about "Mr. X" (a.k.a. Perry Belcher), so in anticipation of this I have written this formal statement in an effort to clear the air. I hope you find it helpful...

Before you begin, I should disclaim all this by saying I am not an attorney and this is not intended to act as a formal legal opinion and definitely not legal advice. This is just one guy's attempt at helping out a buddy through a really difficult time in his life.

With all that said...

Here are the Facts As I Know Them

Because of the sheer volume of his businesses, Mr. Belcher has become target of the state government where he lives.

A few weeks ago, the State of Tennessee started investigating his health businesses and forced him to close them pending the investigation. They froze over $2M in cash and assets pending the outcome of the case. (Yes, they can do that.)

His other businesses continue to operate as only his health businesses where effected, however the government seized every cent of operating capital he had. (Again, yes they can do that...even before they've PROVEN your guilt.)

It's standard textbook government issue. Take all the money and sort it out later.

They made a huge deal out of embarrassing him to justify what they had done. In truth Mr. Belcher had simply sold vitamins, homeopathic remedies (which he was FDA approved to sell, incidentally) and ebooks on health. Nothing more.

Just to clarify: Mr. Belcher was not investigated or in trouble with any federal agency be it the FDA, FTC, or any other governmental agency starting with an "F". On the contrary, his manufacturing lab and all the products he sold were fully registered with the FDA and sold with their approval.

This is a state matter ONLY, and unfortunately the state has taken the stance of "guilty until proven innocent".

Frankly we should all be angered at this injustice.

Finally, he is NOT in jail. Yes, they filed criminal charges against him (all of which are bogus) so they would have the ability to freeze his accounts and because of that he had to spend some time in lockup while they were going through all the processing.

But again, he is NOT in jail nor is he going to prison. That's simply ridiculous and anyone who insists on saying he's in jail just proves their ignorance.

Here's What I Believe To Be True

For the record, Perry Belcher is a friend, a good guy and a good father, and what's being done to him by the state of Tennessee is not right at all. Ask anyone who's in business and they'll tell you that stuff like this happens to people who don't deserve it all the time, and in this case they came after Perry.

Their claims that he operates an "illegal" manufacturing company is 100% false.

The fact is, Perry's lab is fully registered with the FDA. The state simply didn't understand the distinctions between homeopathic registration and pharmaceutical registration, which shows their ignorance. ALL of his products were and are approved by the FDA. Again, the state was looking for pharmaceutical approvals and didn't realize that there are different levels of FDA approvals. Pharmaceutical is the highest, but there are 5 other levels beneath that that the FDA regulates.

Likewise, their claims that he pretended to be a licensed medical professional are also false (and frankly so outrageous it would be so funny if it weren't so sad). On his ebook sites he called himself a "medical researcher," which is not a licensed profession in any state. They are saying, however, that by calling himself a "medical researcher" he's essentially saying he's a doctor.

Hmmm...I don't make that connection, do you?

And the worst part is, they're charging him like they would someone who calls themselves a doctor, sets up shop and starts removing appendixes and other organs without a license. Does that seem like it's anywhere close to the same thing to you? Not to me, and not to Perry's lawyers.

But What About All the Review Sites Bashing Him?

A lot of people will point to information sites and review sites (or worst of all RipoffReport.com), and say, "Yeah, but look at what all these other people are saying about him!"

But the thing you need to keep in mind is that most if not all of the bad reports about Perry were posted by direct competitors trying to hurt his name or professional extortion companies such as the RipoffReport.com (And by the way, if you to see a true scoundrel at work, just do a little research on RipoffReport.com. That guy has a rap sheet a mile long and literally had to flee the country so he could continue running his illegal business.)

Yes, there are no doubt some angry customers out there, but when you're doing 400 - 500 transactions A DAY you're bound to make some people unhappy no matter what you do. Again, ask anyone in business and they'll tell you it's true. I do way less transactions than that, give refunds whenever I'm asked without hassle and still there are people who will be unhappy.

Remember that this is the Internet, and people spout opinions, half-truths, and even all out LIES without really needing to back any of them up or even reveal their true identity.

In the end, things aren't always as they seem.

Unfortunately, Perry joins a long list of marketers like Gary Halbert, Frank Kern and many more of the greats who have done battle with the government over the years and usually come out stronger for it.

Here Is Where I Came In...

When all this happened Perry needed money for legal fees. (Remember, they have frozen all his bank accounts including personal accounts and business accounts that they allowed him to keep operating. Now tell me how that makes any sense?!)

He and I had recorded these materials 5 months before this all happened. We didn't have any immediate plans to sell the information, but due to the situation Perry decided to license the content to me and the fees I gave him went straight to his lawyers. (His legal fees are estimated at over $250,000)

In short, he's my friend, I saw a way to help him out (while at the same time sharing some pretty fantastic information with people that would have otherwise stayed under wraps) and I took the opportunity.

I knew the risks...

I knew that there was a chance that this could hurt my reputation, but I made the decision to do what was right and help a friend. Other well-known marketers who know Perry have chosen to do the same, which is why you've seen so many people promoting our offer.

If you're reading this and you know me, I'm hoping you'll be willing to give me the benefit of the doubt.

My reputation in this industry is spotless for a reason, and while I know some people will think less of me for working with a "criminal" like Perry (their words not mine), I know that Perry would have done the same for me if the roles were reversed.

But Do the Traffic Methods Really Work? Are They Illegal?

Let me make this crystal clear...

Perry Belcher did make all that money and 100% of the stats are true. I have seen them all, live, inside the accounts with my own two eyes. He has sold more products online than anyone you have probably ever heard of or seen on any Internet marketing stage. He is the real deal.

Furthermore, the traffic methods we teach in the "Wholesale Traffic System" are 100% legal and ethical. In fact, the reason the Google portion of the training works so well is because we're actually doing what Google wants us to do!

And again, please keep in mind that Perry uses these systems in all of his businesses, including the ones that are still up and running today. I say this because I know someone out there will say (if they haven't already said it), "Well of course he made all that money...he was selling stuff illegally!!"

Again, Perry sells a lot of stuff and ONLY the health products were investigated. This was just one portion of his business, but these methods have been tested and proven across multiple markets and industries, and again there's nothing illegal or unethical about them.

If you wind up going through the training, you'll get to see proof of that with your own eyes.

To Sum It All Up...

If you are in this business long enough and are successful enough, the government may very well come knocking at your door some day. It can truly happen to any of us.

It's a sad but all-to-common reaction for people to want to get their torches and pitch forks and storm after the "bad guy"...even though they don't really know the full story.

My advice to you is don't do that!

Not only is it anti-productive for all of us, it's just plane mean. And I can assure you that if it were you or someone you knew going through what Perry's going through, you'd want people to treat them with the respect and dignity they deserved.

In fact, you may even want to be treated "innocent until proven guilty"...

Hey, now there's an interesting concept.

Thanks for your understanding and support.

Sincerest regards,
Ryan Deiss
